The Service Projects Committee, along with numerous TCWC volunteers, was very busy in August! The volunteer group included Rose Kirk, Carla Beckman, Kelley Class, and Lisa Angeli along with her mother, Catherine Dick, Regan Gerard, Carol Jansen, Eliza Pate, Lin Greene, Caryl Ann Jacobs, Rhonda Labor, Cassie Brothers Francis, Wanda Baham, Jeanette Tiffany, Kim Farrell, Michelle Smith, Sally Freeman and Martha Moore. Together these 19 women logged more than 70 volunteer hours in 2 mornings stuffing backpacks with school supplies at Pike Middle School in Justin. Thanks in large part to the efforts of TCWC; Northwest Independent School District reached their goal of over 800 backpacks ready for student delivery at the Back to School Fair which occurred on Saturday, August 18th. Way to go gals! A big thank you to all who participated with this worthwhile project.
The Service Projects Committee has voted to “adopt seniors” as our year end Christmas endeavor. We will accomplish this goal as a three phase plan working in conjunction with Metroport Meals on Wheels (MMOW) a non-profit located in Roanoke. Many of the TCWC members are very familiar with MMOW and the excellent work they do in Trophy Club, Roanoke and the surrounding area. Our three phase plan includes:
The Service Projects Committee thanks all TCWC members in advance for their generosity to our seniors!
The Service Committee stuffing backpacks for school.
Below are organizations for which we will collect donations throughout 2018.
Please keep all of these wonderful services in mind, and the people who work daily to help others. If you feel passionate about community service and helping others, please feel free to join us! We meet monthly. Dates are emailed in advance.
