Celebrating Senior Scholars

Summer is here, graduations have been completed (in some fashion!) and many high school seniors are preparing to transition into the next phase of their lives and education. Trophy Club Women’s Club is pleased to award $17,000 in Scholarships this year to our High School Graduates!

The 13 Scholarship recipients will be attending some of the finest schools in our country such as Brigham Young University, The Culinary Institute of America, and of course our Texas greats such as UT Austin & Dallas, Texas A&M, and TCU just to name a few. They have each chosen rigorous courses of study including Mathematics, Biochemistry, Physics, Political Science and the Culinary Arts. These outstanding students were chosen as this year’s winners because of their ability to maintain stellar academic records while still finding time to contribute to our community and enjoy their favorite extracurricular activities

For example, many of them found time to tutor their peers, perform childcare duties at their church, participate in mission activities, and even volunteered to help at the TCWC garage sales. With so much giving, they still found time for their favorite activities that included band, softball, soccer, dance, and robotics club.

We are very honored to announce the winners of the 2020 TCWC Scholarship Awards.

Megan Rawe Matthew Ji Kristen Fowler McKenzie Arata Mia Duffy

Grace Howat Austin Nguyen William Noonan III Katherine Raper Tanya

Mary Baiju Lindsey Dominguez

Two students received Barbara West Scholarships, provided in memory of TCWC member Barbara West. These scholarships are dedicated to students pursuing a future in culinary, hospitality or horticulture fields. The two Award winners this year are:

Caylie Kirkpatrick Caleb Atkinson

TCWC raises funds for Scholarships through the popular Spring and Fall Community Garage Sales. All proceeds from the “permit” sales go directly to the General Scholarship fund to provide scholarships for the next year’s seniors. In 2020, TCWC cancelled the Spring Sale due to CoVid 19 and will be creating new ways to raise funds for our 2021 Seniors, as well as counting on the Fall Sale to provide these Scholarships.

Please consider participating in the Fall Community Garage Sale (scheduled for October 17th) or go to mytcwc.org and visit the Donate Now page (Garage Sale/Scholarships) to help replace the loss from our Spring Sale for deserving seniors in 2021.

Congratulations to all of this year’s TCWC Scholarship Winners!!
